Claudia L “Cookie” Greenwood was born June 1, 1947 in Independence, Missouri and departed this life on June 4, 2012 at her home in Clinton, Missouri. She was the daughter of Claude Thomas and Katheryn Mae (Ross) Greenwood. Much of her adult life was spent in and around the Holden/Kingsville area.
Claudia graduated with an Associates Degree in Social Science from Longview College in 1991 and for several years worked as a juvenile officer for Cass County until failing health forced her retirement.
She was a member of New Beginnings Pentecostal Church. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Katheryn Greenwood and her companion of 24 years, Eric “Big Rick” Brannan.
She is survived by three daughters; Cathi Wood, and companion Sammy Dean, along with Cathi’s children, Travis Lee and Kyle Andrew all of Kingsville, Missouri. Carolyn Cavette Kirkman, husband Warren and their children Zackary Arthur and Ezekiel Elijah all of Odessa, Missouri. Cimberly Deana Gudde and husband, Dwayne and their children, Molly Renea, Caleb Ross, Jacob Ryan and Devin Reed all of Kingsville, Missouri. Three brothers, Thomas Greenwood of Bismark, Arkansas; Raymond Greenwood of Louisburg, Kansas and Claude Allen Greenwood of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Five sisters, Janet Crow of Bismark, Arkansas; Mary Dove of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Virginia Caldwell of Kansas City, Missouri; Sharon Aline “Pennie” Bryant and husband Denzel of Clinton, Missouri and Sherry Louise Wehmeyer of Harrisonville, Missouri. Seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends. In accordance with Claudia’s wishes cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled.
