Stillwater resident Tammie Renee King died Thursday at a Stillwater hospital. She was 37.

She was born June 23, 1964, in Seminole, the daughter of Kenneth King and Wynona Wood Harjo. She attended Putnam City West High School in Bethany. Upon her graduation, she received a basketball scholarship and attended Bacone College in Muskogee. She also attended Rogers State University in Claremore before graduating from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. She had earned a bachelor's degree in business management.

King worked for Shaw Gulf Oil Company for 13 years and worked for Al Bail Bondsman for four years. She was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death where her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her parents, both of Seminole; brother, Bryan Keith Douthit and wife Rene of Meeker; nephew, Braxton Douthit, Meeker; nieces, Montana Douthit, Meeker, and Kristen Aldridge, Seminole; stepsister, Brandy Harjo of Seminole; stepbrothers, Tim Harjo and Stacy Harjo of Seminole; and many friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Strode Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry D. Dockery and Mike Wood will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery, Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater.
