Joyce Newkirk, 75, of Garland, Texas a former longtime resident of Duncan, passed away Wednesday, Dec.17, 2014, in Garland. Joyce was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Duncan, to Oriel E and Wilma (Lorance) Mooney.
Joyce was member of Ray of Hope Church and the Quilt Club in Duncan, and she also taught cake decorating at the Red River VoTech School.
Survivors include a son; David Newkirk, of Dallas; daughters, Marsha Hays, of Rowlett, Texas, Robin Gowen, of Quinlan, Texas, and Alicia Warden, of Rowlett, Texas; a sister, Evelyn Jackson, of Duncan; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at the Ray of Hope Church with the Rev. Mike McCord officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery.
