Wadzinski, Betty J.

Betty J. Wadzinski, formerly of Manitowoc, was lifted to eternal life on Friday, December 19, 2014 at VNA Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa.

She was born April 10, 1924 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late James and Laura (Wilda) Roubal. Betty attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School and graduated with the Class of 1942. On June 30, 1945, she married John (Jack) Wadzinski at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He proceeded her in death on September 18, 1993. Her long and rich life included working side by side with her husband Jack. Together they owned and operated the Newton Meat Market, Valders Grocery, Jack's Mini Mart, Jack's Midtown Market, and Jack's ABC, of Manitowoc. Betty was known for creating and producing the home-made salads and deli items, especially her German potato salad at Jack's ABC. She was also a waitress and cooks helper at Felician Village, Manitowoc. Her passions included cooking, enjoying breakfast with friends, playing cards, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She taught them to play cards and loved to spend time telling stories and playing board games.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Gary and Pat Wadzinski, Oak Creek and Ron Wadzinski, Manitowoc; her grandchildren: Jon (Heidi) Wadzinski, Franklin, Jyl (Steve) Posto, Oak Creek, Marc (Heidi) Wadzinski, Oak Creek, Erin (Jeff) LaFond, Manitowoc, and Shannon Wadzinski, Manitowoc; nine great-grandchildren: Jack, Natalie, and Jacob Wadzinski, Alyssa and Ryan Wadzinski, Lauren and Alex Posto, and Jasper and Archer Lafond, and a Sister-in-law: LaVerne Wetenkamp, Manitowoc. She is also survived other relatives and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law Gerald Wetenkamp.

Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi - Marshal site. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial of her cremated remains in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc to follow.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St, Francis of Assisi - Marshal site from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014.
