Mr. Salvatore was born August 12, 1935 in York, a son of Elizabeth (DelCarlino) Salvatore of York and the late John J. Salvatore. He served in the U.S. Navy and its reserves, was employed at Standard Register, NCR, and retired in 1998 from Berg Electronics in Emigsville. He was a 1953 graduate of York Catholic High School and attended Franklin and Marshall College.
Mr. Salvatore is survived by five children, Denise M. wife of George Gruver of York, Louann Salvatore of York, Emily J. Harte of Gettysburg, Julia A. wife of Steve Armstrong of Keene, NH and Timothy L. husband of Karen Salvatore of York; six grandchildren, Suzanne, Jacob, Charles, Patricia, Chloe and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and William; and a brother, Robert L. Salvatore of Aliquippa.
A visitation will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, with a 1 p.m. memorial service, at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York with the Rev. Robert M. Gillelan, Jr. officiating. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Cancer Center, 25 Monument Road, Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
