Obituary from The Messenger of Truth Issue 7, 1948: (contributed by JCarter - 48847489)
GIESBRECHT—It has pleased God to take from us our dear husband and father, Jacob F. Giesbrecht, after an illness of about 10 weeks. Father passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 1948, at 8 A. M. in a Winnipeg hospital.
The deceased was born at Steinbach on March 18, 1882, reaching the age of 65 years, 11 months. He was a member of the Kleine Gemeide. On December 9, 1905 father was united in marriage to Anna Loewen, who preceded him in death on the 21st of April, 1934. To this union were born 10 children, of which preceded him in death, they had 12 grandchildren.
On June 13, 1937 father married again, this time to Elizabeth Reimer of Blumenort, Man. Seven brothers and one sister survive him.
Our sorrow is great, but not without hope. We believe our dear father has gone to be with God and His angels. His father, the late Minister Bro. William Giesbrecht, died in 1917. Mother died in 1917. Mother died in 1938. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for all the kindness shown toward father and mother.
The Family—Bro. G. F. Giesbrecht
