William J. "Bill" Breu, 95, Marshfield, died on December 18, 2014 at Bethel Center, Arpin. William was born on July 26, 1919 in Auburndale to Joseph and Josephine (Bruckert) Breu and was a 1937 graduate of McKinley High School, Marshfield. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He served as combat rifleman in the 94th infantry division in northern France, Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland, and central Europe. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Blessing on January 21, 1946 at St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel, Marshfield. She died on August 31, 2010. Bill was employed at Marshfield Brewery after high school with the exception of the war years until 1958. He then worked at the United States Post Office in Marshfield for 26 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799, The American Legion Post 54, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1866. He enjoyed his family, traveling, and stamp collecting. He was very resourceful in household maintenance. His favorite poem was "I Never Saw A Purple Cow". He is survived by 6 sons and 6 daughters; 26 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a grandchild, a great grandchild, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Rembs Funeral Home.
