Dennis Lee Martin, 58, of Taylor Ridge, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the American Diabetes Association or to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
Dennis was born in Davenport, Iowa on December 18, 1956, a son of Estil and Colene Glines Martin. He married Jody Finch on September 4, 1993 in Davenport.
Dennis had been the quality manager at Parker Hannifin Corporation, Davenport, for the last 37 years.
Dennis was into building and showing classic cars, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, building choppers, gun collecting, trap shooting, playing the guitar, NASCAR, radio controlled cars and airplanes and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia . He also loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jody Martin, Taylor Ridge; children, Michelle (Adam VanOpdorp) Martin, Atkinson, Ill., Scott Luebbe, Moline and Branden West, Milan; grandson, Collyn Estil Martin and one on the way; brother, Danny (Susie) Martin, Bettendorf; sister, Karen Wood, Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estil and Colene and brother, Donny.
