A funeral service will be held at her home church, Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church, May 3, at 11 a.m. viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Spence Family plot at New Sawyers Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden. Expressions and remembrances will be Friday, May 2 at Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Vivian Hunter. In the Community, she volunteered with the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for 11 years having been appointed by then Pasquotank Manager, Randy Keaton; She was committed volunteer with Guardian Ad Litem from 2006-2012; and for seven years, she volunteered at the Albemarle Food Bank and was the former Executive Officer of the local chapter of both the NAACP and the NAUW.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by a loving and devoted daughter, Mrs. Saundra Dean Long (Burnett) of Upper Marlboro, Md.; eight grandchildren; 20 great -grandchildren; brother/cousin, Mr. Lincoln Spence (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
