Joann G. Dean, 79, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Montgomery, IL, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006.
Joann was born on January 2, 1927 in Valparaiso, IN to Fred and Hazel Grieger. She married Jack D. Dean on May 5, 1946 and they began their long journey together when they moved to Aurora, IL. They later settled in Montgomery, IL where she worked as a secretary for Long Beach Elementary School in Boulder Hill for several years. After their retirement, they moved to Ocala, FL where they resided for about 19 years.
Joann is survived by her three children, Steve Dean of Ocala, FL, Craig (Julie) Dean and Debra (James) Stafford of Yorkville, IL; and six grandchildren, Michael Dean, Jacqueline Dean, Jonathon Stafford, Stephanie Stafford, all of Yorkville, Amanda Stafford Olson of Plano and Allison Dean Edwards of Sycamore; and a brother-in-law, Norman Rosenbaum.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; her two sisters, Marylou Rosenbaum and Pearl Grieger.
Joann was cremated at National Cremation Society of Fruitland, Florida. A small memorial service will be held sometime in June at the Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
