Funeral services for Eddie Dee "Jug" Birdwell, age 61, of New Summerfield will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Brother Donny Sadler officiating. Burial will follow at New Emmaus Cemetery.
Eddie Birdwell was born July 31, 1953, in Carthage, Texas to R. L. and Mary Lou Birdwell.
He had worked as a flooring contractor and was a member of the Chisholm Baptist Church.
He died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Ray Birdwell.
He is survived by two daughters, Shonda Whittiker of Kaufman and Molly Birdwell Loughmiller of New Summerfield, two sisters, Debra Cline of New Summerfield and Joy Bird of New Summerfield, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a special friend, Bobbie Jo Lavender of New Summerfield.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Carpenter, Percy Bird, Joe Stringfellow, James Whittiker, Caleb Whittiker and David Lapp. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Mills and Alan Mills. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 until service time of 2:00.
