Services for Hewitt were held at 10:00 in the morning of Saturday, September 23rd at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plaucheville, Louisiana. Reverend Louis Voohries officiated the service, and the pallbearers were Wayne Aymond, Stewart Aymond, Marvin Bonnette, Leeward Ortego, Gerard Saucier, and Hewitt’s son Jude Plauché.
