MRS. MARY JANET ABBOTT, 61, of 458 Cumberland Ave., Chambersburg, died Monday at her home.
She was born Dec. 7, 1919 in Chambersburg, daughter of the late Crawford and Margaret (Croft) Metz.
She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, the auxiliaries to the BPOE No. 600 Chambersburg, the America Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 1599, both of Chambersburg, the Moose Lodge No. 1128, Chambersburg.
She was a graduate of the Chambersburg High School.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Abbott, three sons, Terrence Abbott, Richard (Tony) Abbott, both of Chambersburg; Timothy Abbott, Chambersburg R.D. 6, five grandchilden, three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Thomas Malone, Mrs. Ira Gayman, Benjamin Metz, all of Chambersburg, Mrs. Robert Wallet, Camp Hill, two nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Gerrity celebrant. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.
The family will receive friends at the church one half hour before the services. Contributions may be made to the Hospice Program, 144 S. Eighth St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201
