ECHOLS, Mr. Joseph Age 85, of Dayton, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at his residence. A native of Opelika, Alabama and a Dayton resident for the majority of his life. Preceded in death by his wife, Coetha Echols. Survivors include his sons, Clifford & Randy Echols; daughters, Lynette, Josephine & Sandra Echols, all of Dayton; sisters, Mattie Daisley, of Phoenix, AZ, Ruth Baker, of Dayton; brother-in-law, Charlie (Margaret) Jones, of Chicago, IL; sisters-in-law, Ruby Echols, Mary Scott, Dorsey Blue, Betty L. (Johnnie) Jones; 6 grandchildren, Dwayne Echols, Rhonda (Tim) Fox, Leshell Echols, Clifford Echols Jr., Elder Otis (Crystal) Sheppard, Devin Sheppard; special Goddaughter, Daria Foster; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 4200 Germantown Pike. Rev. Lysander Nelms officiating. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery. Visitation 10 am Wednesday at the church until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
