Dorothy Bannister Smith, 87, former resident of Thompson Drive, widow of Charles D. Smith, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at Emerald Gardens.
Born in Greenwood, August 25, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Levi Bannister and Elizabeth Puckett Bannister Bartley. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Greenwood Mills.
Mrs. Smith was a member of West Side Baptist Church where she had taught the 3rd Grade Sunday School Class for many years.
Surviving is a step-son, Rev. Milton Smith of York, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Hal Lane and Rev. Don McKenzie officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Johnny Blaxton, Kevin Bannister, Dan Bannister, Jeremy Madden and Samuel Madden.
Honorary escort will be member of the Adult 1 Sunday School Class of West Side Baptist Church along with the staff of Emerald Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 Saturday evening.
