Thedis Keeton, 81, of Dora died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in the McCormack Cemetery in Dora. Bro. Larry Gilbert will officiate. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora will direct.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. today, May 27, 2002, in the parlor at the funeral home.

Keeton retired as a coal miner from the Franklin Coal Company after 30 years of service, was a member of the UMWA, and also attended Bagley Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Keeton of Dora; one daughter, Kathy Ricketts of Gardendale; three sons, Robby and David Keeton, both of Warrior and Gene Keeton of Gardendale; one sister, Shirley Thorn of Nauvoo; three brothers, Wallace Keeton of Jasper, Travis Keeton and Noah Keeton, both of Nauvoo; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
