Elizabeth Renfro passed from this life December 17, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born to Harris and Audrey Lea Idol on March 9, 1920 in Gouldbusk, Texas.
She grew up in the Llano, TX area where she attended school, married at a young age, and later moved to Houston and Austin where she had her first three children.
In 1953, she met the love of her life, Fritz Renfro, and they were married for 58 years until his death in 2011. They had two daughters. During their marriage the Air Force took them to Lometa, TX; Guam, San Antonio, Austin, Bossier City, LA, Biloxi, MS, Fort Worth and Belmead. Their latter years were spent in Bedford, TX while Fritz was employed as Director of Maintenance at DFW Airport.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, husband, Fritz Renfro; son, Col.Randy Furr; granddaughter, Robin Talley Hernandez; her brothers, Ward and Bill Idol.
She is survived by four daughters: Judy Talley and husband, Wayne; Jan Blissit and husband, Mickey; Lizanne Starr and husband, Preston; and Debbie Dragoo and husband, Arlin. Others include 15 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth's entire life was devoted to the love of her children and family.
Special thanks to all her caregivers at Stoneybrook Memory Care and Grace Hospice.
Pallbearers for her service include - Mike Blissit, Zane Furr, Skip Dragoo, Matt Renfro, Ray Renfro, and Doug Renfro.
Services: Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, between 2-3PM. Chapel service following at 3PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
