Guy W. Moore Sr. passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014.
The son of Hubert and Corna Moore, Guy was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Summit, W.Va.
In 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as staff sergeant in the 150th Infantry in the Panama Canal Zone during World War II. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and a lifetime member of the VFW. Guy and his family moved to Texas in 1960 and made their home in Arlington in 1962. A lover of the outdoors, Guy was actively involved in the Arlington Men's Garden Club and Texas Roadrunners RV Club. He also enjoyed building birdhouses, tinkering in his little house in the back yard and traveling. His kindness, sense of humor and knack for storytelling will be greatly missed.
Guy was preceded in death by his siblings, Adeline Westerhoff, Lindy Moore, Geneva Miller and Kirtley Moore.
Survivors: His loving wife of 61 years, Mary; son, Guy Moore and wife, Suzi, of Arlington; son, Greg Moore of San Francisco; siblings, Mary Elizabeth Griffith of Madison, W.Va., and Bob Moore and husband, Mike Knight, of Kannapolis, N.C.; granddaughters, Taylor Moore of Fort Worth and Hannah Moore of Arlington; TJ and Kris Fletcher and sons of Arlington; Regina and Madison Gamble of Arlington; many nieces and nephews; and close family members, Susan and Bill Warren.
