Karen Ann Cockerel Copeland, daughter of Martha Lester Cockerel and the late Robert Lawrence Cockerel, was born August 19, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this life December 17, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 28 days. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, nurse and friend. During her working years she was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working mostly in Nursing Homes. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Calico Rock.
She is survived by her mother: Martha Lester Cockerel of Calico Rock; one brother: Jim Cockerel of Calico Rock; three nieces: Lacy Wallace, Essence Wallace, and D’An Wallace all of Mountain Home; numerous aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her father and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Kevin Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Table Rock Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
