Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Dye Larsen Christensen, 72, prominent church and community leader, died at the family home Sunday night following a heart attack.
Mrs. Christensen was born May 7, 1880 in Provo, a daughter of Heber Charles and Mary Anne Smith Dye. The family moved to Moroni and later to Chester, Sanpete County, when Mrs. Christensen was a child. On June 4,, 1902, she was married in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to her former schoolteacher, Andrew L. Larsen, a well know musician from Mt. Pleasant, where they made their home. Mr. Larsen died in 1908 and on Nov. 10, 1915, she was married to Hyrum Christensen. He died May 29, 1936. She served two terms as city treasurer and had served as a teacher, counselor and president of the South Ward Young Women's Mutual Improvement Assn. She also served 15 years as president of North Sanpete Stake Relief Society board, and was a class teacher in the Relief Society Genealogical Society department and and stake missionary and a member of the Twentieth Century Club.
surviving are three sons, and three daughters, A. Bardell Larsen, Cedar City; Floyd D. Larsen, Billings, Mont.; Alvin H. Christensen, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Thomas Kowalski, Concord, Cal.; Frances Christensen, Salina, and Mrs. W. I. Barton, Ogden; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers, John dye, Concrete, Wash.,m and Isaac Reynolds Allred, Wendover, and Mrs. Sarah Kump, Uintah Basin.
