John B. Dove, 85, passed away on May 31, 2014.

He was born on December 29, 1928, in Atlantic Mine, Michigan to parents Adolph and Lempi Dove. He graduated a three sport star from Chassell High School in 1946, his father having died when John was two.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in May 1948 as a Radio Operator. During his tour of duty he was cited for distinguishing himself by extraordinary achievement with the Tactical Air Control Parties while assigned to the Second Republic of Korea Division, and to a special mission entitled Operation "Jigsaw." He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

John met his wife of 65 years, Marilyn M. Morin, when he was five. The couple was married at the church in Chassell on his birthday, December 29, 1948.

John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, three children, and grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sisters, and brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Marc and granddaughter Stephanie, a sister Linda and brothers Edwin, Jarl and Milton.

A Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM until the time of a Service at 7:00 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis. Interment will be on Thursday June 5th at WOOD NATIONAL CEMETERY with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family appreciated.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Curative Senior Center of Waukesha which was John's home away from home. Also, The Virginia Health and Rehab staff for their wonderful care.
