Colin Kenrick Hirst was the 2nd son and 3rd child of 5 children born to Norman Elwood Hirst and Rachael Johnston he grew up on a property with his family at Breeza, NSW called Clovenedon after Rachael,s birtplace in Ireland he enlisted in the Air Force 22nd Dec 1942 posted to Cairns, Bowen and Port Morsby as leading aircraftman with 11 and 20 Squadrin on PBY Catalina,s discharge at end of WW2 1946 married Norma Elaine Lorimer in Gunnedah 17 March 1950 having 3 children Sharon, Debbie and Rod
