She was born August 11, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Nicholas and Mildred (Smith) Thillen.
Pat married Robert Lee Bales, who was a Lieutenant on the Illinois State Police, December 7, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. She was a court recorder in the state judicial system in Oregan, Illinois before retiring in Mountain Home. She was a devout Christian and loved her church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Mountain Home. She was the head of the Alter Guild and a Daughter of the King.
Pat is survived by her sister-in-law: Diane Patricia Edwards who she would boast was more like a daughter than a sister-in-law. She loved to tell how she and Bob married at the age of 19, when Diane was only 1 year old. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Jim McDonald officiating.
Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
