JOHN J. STANNARD
Native of South Dorset Dies in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. - Oct. 9 - Funeral services for John J. Stannard, brother of Henry Stannard of South Dorset, were held Saturday in the Spurr Funeral Home. The Rev. Chester A. Simmons officiated. Interment was in Woodlands cemetery.
Mr. Stannard died Thursday at his home on West Main street. He was born May 19, 1872, in South Dorset, son of Curtis and Rebecca Stannard and had lived in Cambridge for the past 52 years. He had been a monument dealer and carver for 30 years. He was a member of Embury Methodist church and the IOOF.
Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Smith Stannard; four sons, Leroy Stannard of Port Richmon, S.I.; Alfred W. Stannard, Keesville, George C. and Lemuel Stannard, Cambridge and three grandsons.
