Margaret A. Stockbauer, 89, of St. Joseph, Mo, passed away on May 25, 2004, at the local hospital.
Margaret was born Dec. 7, 1914, to Herbert and Cecelia Gassen of Higginsville, Mo. She had been a St. Joseph resident most of her life.
She was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a volunteer at House of Bread.
She worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Joseph State Hospital and Missouri Western State College.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles; daughter, Peggy; three brothers, Joseph, Bill and Albert; and two sisters, Frances and Cecelia.
On June 15, 1940, Margaret married Charles F. Stockbauer. They were married 63 years.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Joseph, Jefferson City, Mo.; three daughters, Janice Stockbauer and Stephanie Miller, both of St. Joseph; and Mary Jo Cornett, Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial: May 28, 2004, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, St. Joseph, Mo.
Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo.
