Emily Jo was born on June 28, 1926 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of the late Frederic & Glenna (Bloyd) Chandler. She was educated in the schools of Quincy & Indianapolis. Emily Jo married Norman Barnes on August 2, 1952 in Kenosha. She was employed as a secretary for the Kenosha Board of Education in her early years, and later as a homemaker. Emily Jo was a longtime member of First Christian Church. Her hobbies included reading, cross-stitching, embroidering, baking, and spending time with family & friends.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Barnes of Kenosha; her daughter, Deborah (Dominic) Gastaldi of Kenosha; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Baker-Smith. Emily Jo was preceded in death by her step-mother, Beulah Chandler.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 at Kenosha Funeral Services from 9-11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
