William “Bill” J. McClintock, 59, passed away at 11:29 pm Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton. He was born May 11, 1955 in Alton, Illinois, the son of William E. and Ilse (Dahlen) McClintock. He married Cynthia K. Cribbet on July 6, 1974 in Kingsville, TX. She survives. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a laborer for the City of Alton Street Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post 354 of Alton and Teamster Local 525. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his friends. He was a kind person who would do anything for a stranger. In addition to his wife of Alton and his mother of Wood River, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Matthew Polak of Bellevue, NE and Christen and Christina McClintock of Granite City; four grandchildren, Blake, Baylea, Stephanie and Sydnie; a great granddaughter, Rylie; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Mike Sherman of East Alton; nieces and nephews, Marcie Marlow, Jennifer Robbins, Sarah Goodman, Beth Baty and Natalie Sherman a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sherry and Larry Robbins and a brother-in-law, Doug Cribbet. He is preceded in death by his father, a brother, Dennis J. McClintock, and a nephew, Frank Kuter. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the funeral home with Father Peter Donohoe as officiant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Bethalto with military rites given by Alton VFW Post 1308.
