DEATH OF PIONEER

Mrs. Rasmuss Frandsen of this city died Friday morning, April 26th. She had reached her seventy-fifth year and death came as a result of old age and general debility.

The funeral was held in the North Ward meeting house Sunday at 2 O'clock. Hans Brown, C.W. Anderson, Abram Johnson and John Carter were the speakers. Sacred music was rendered by the choir and a solo by Miss Hortense Syndergaard. A nice floral offering was given by friends and relatives.

Mrs. Frandsen was born October 29, 1837, at Svinninge Osherred Co. Denmark. She was the daughter of Lars Madsen and Bodel Nielson Madsen. She joined the Mormon Church when but a young girl, and came to America with three of her brothers and one sister, Peter, Andrew, Niel and Jacobina. She crossed the plains in 1856 with Pres. Peterson's company and was married to Rasmus Frandsen in the Endowment House at Salt Lake City in June 1857. She was the mother of five children, Peter, Rasmuss, Willard, Anna Rolfson and Laura Hansen.

Her husband and five children survive her. She was a true Latter Day Saint and good mother.
