Flight Sergeant Maurice M. Rowe, son of Edgar and Ellen, served with the #11 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron. He was one of four RCAF airmen who died on active service when their Lockheed Hudson aircraft #BW453 crashed on the return flight to the RCAF base in Dartmouth, after an anti-sub patrol. Poor visibility due to heavy fog caused the aircraft to crash in Preston, 6 miles east of Dartmouth.
