He was born March 24, 1924, in Hopkins County, Ky., to the late Claude and Kitty Clark Gentry. He was a retired federal employee after serving for 20 years at Ft. Campbell, Ky. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the China, Burma and India Theaters during World War II Theatre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Clint Gentry, on July 10, 1993; and two brothers, Jack Gentry and the Rev. Johnny Gentry.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rita Jane Ridley Gentry of Dawson Springs; one brother, Boitnott Gentry of Dawson Springs; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rosedale Cemetery with elder Jeff Winfrey officiating.
