Bruce L. Tyson, 80,

of 187 Reedy Rd., New Columbia, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at his home.

He was born on February 20, 1934 in Watsontown, a son of the late Lewis T. and Rena I. (Brown) Tyson.

On October 6, 1955 he married the former Josephine E. “Josie” Hill. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage before her death on June 10, 2004.

Bruce attended Watsontown High School.

He retired after 42 years working as a machinist at the former Avco, now Textron, Williamsport.

He attended First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown earlier in life.

Bruce loved spending time outdoors including hunting and working in his garden.
He was a generous man always willing to help others in need. Most important to him was spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are a son & daughter-in-law, Jack R. and Carol Tyson, of New Columbia;
two daughters, Ann M. Stahl, of Castro Valley, CA
and Rebecca K. Specht, of Milton;
two sisters and one brother-in-law,
Doris J. Lynn, of Shamokin
and Ruth I. and Mike Snyder, of Watsontown;

five grandchildren, Brad A. Stahl, Lindsay A. McNabb, Kassandra E. Tyson, Thomas P. Specht and Allison P. Specht;
and five great-grandchildren, Adrian D. Stahl, Michael Stahl, Sasha Stahl, Kiana McNabb and Roy McNabb.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ray L. Tyson ; a sister, Edna A. Nogle; and a son-in-law, Steve Stahl.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. James H. Fladland of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown, officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
