Terry D. "Pappy" Walters, 75, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Tuesday December 16, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 19th at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial with military honors, conducted by American Legion Post 569/200 and V.F.W. Post 1303, will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and additional visitation one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial plaque to be placed later at Terry's favorite golf course.

Terry Don Walters was born September 3, 1939 in Rock Island, IL, to Don Cutler Walters and Mae Louise Townsend Walters. He married Carol Monahan in 1960. They divorced in 1973. He then married Sally Van Earwage in 1977. They divorced in 1980. Terry met the love of his life, Kathryn O'Shea Lundquist in 1985, and they married March 29, 1986 in Rock Island.

Terry served in the U.S. Navy out of high school. He attended Barber College after the Navy and loved being the one to give grandsons Philip, Jr. and Hunter their first haircuts.

He lived in Rhode Island for a short time and enjoyed 6 years employed with E. Rosen Co. Schoolhouse Candy. After returning to Rock Island he was employed by International Harvester from 1974 to 1982. Terry then worked for Fed-Ex retiring in 1997. For the last ten years he has worked for Connell Agency as the manager of Tower Terrace and Tower Apts. in Rock Island.

Terry was very involved in bowling in his younger years. As Terry would tell you he was an avid golfer, not good, but "avid!" and was proud to have four holes-in-one. He loved going to the air show and circus every year with his family. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, American Pickers, and Pawn Stars. Terry was also a longtime member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Kathryn, of Rock Island; daughters (and spouses), Terri Kearney (Hugo Evans), Raleigh, NC, Cynthia (Dave) Delmonico, Pascoag, RI; Krista (Philip Sr.), Walker, Alpha, IL; grandchildren, Amy LeBlanc, Kyle Kearney, Ian Drumm, Samantha Delmonico, Dominic Delmonico, Makenna Walker, Philip Walker, Jr., and Hunter Walker; great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Tyson; brother, Gary Elliott; sister, Penny (Brian) Samuelson; cousins, Jerry Walters, John (Darlene) Bladel, Pat (Lloyd) Terrill; and many nieces, nephews, and additional family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Butch Elliott; a granddaughter, Lillian Walker; his aunt, Max; his uncle, Mern; and his dog, Scottie.

The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Beacon of Hope Hospice and Terry's nurses, Cindy, Shannon, and Terri Ann.
