April 12, 2006:

Shawnee resident Helen L. von Storch, 99, died Sunday, April 9, in a local hospital.
Helen was born Sept. 10, 1906, in Clarks Summitt, Pa., to Justis and Ethel (White) von Storch. After the death of their mother, Helen and her younger sister, Jane Baptist Witcher, were raised by their aunt and uncle, Clara and Earnest Watrous.

She attended Jefferson Grade School and graduated from Shawnee High School.

Helen spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma City. She was employed for many year by Jenkins Music Store.

Survivors include six nephews and three nieces, Kenneth von Storch, Leon von Storch, Merle von Storch, Carl von Storch, Wilson Baptist, Richard Baptist, Carolyn Allen Dunham, Carolyn Baptist Maples and Ann Baptist Wyche.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Clark Shackelford officiating.
