Mrs. Gimler passed away peacefully Monday, December 15, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Mrs. Gimler was born on August 5, 1934, to Clifford “Sonny” Burney and Gertha Halbrook Burney. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz for 72 years.
Mrs. Gimler was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William “Bill” Gimler; her daughter, Laura Lea Gimler; and her son-in-law, Sidney Ray Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri Gimler Smith; her son, William Breese Gimler and his wife, Jenean; a brother, Luther Allen Burney and his wife, Marilyn; and sister, Pam Burney Phillips. She is also survived by grandchildren Brandy Vosburg Holton; her husband, Ray; Ashly Gimler and his wife, Lacy; Morgan Gimler; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be nephews Perry Burney, Chris Burney, Karl Payne, Scott Payne, Craig Payne and Ian Pettit.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Swartz First Baptist Church, Swartz, Louisiana.
Memorials may be made to the Tamara Ramsey Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Swartz First Baptist Church
