Charles Wesley Jordan, 89, life long Winona area rancher, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 at Whitman Hospital in Colfax. Funeral Service will be held Monday, Dec. 14th at 1:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott. Pastor Dennis Nickel will officiate. Burial will follow at the Winona Cemetery. Charles was born May 12, 1920 to Charles, Sr. and Elizabeth Catherine Aubrey Jordan and grew up on the family farm north of Winona. He graduated from the Winona High School in 1939. He married Betty Hawk in Spokane, Sept. 6, 1947. The couple farmed about seven miles north of Winona their entire lives. Keeping busy and working his cattle and wheat ranch is what Charlie loved most. He also liked wood-working and feeding the wild birds that congregated around his home. He was a member of the Endicott Seventh-day Adventist Church. Charlie was well known around Colfax and the surrounding area for his collection of hats, most with furry animals on them. He loved cats and dogs and animals of all kinds in general. He also loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. Charlie has lived in Endicott for the last seven years with his daughter Charlene and son-in-law, Spencer. He is survived by three children, Peggy Roth of Paradise, CA., Charlene Nunn, Endicott and Chuck Jordan of Winona, 5 grandchildren and a brother, Don Jordan of St. John. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 1983, a daughter, Candy Reyes in 2008 and by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
