Pioneer Passes Away
Charles Lumbar of this place, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Orr, of Orr, MN, Feb. 6, 1917. after a short illness of la grippe and bronchitis and was brought here for burial.
Charles Lumbar was born at Marine, WI, in 1845, and leaves to mourn his wife and six children, namely Mrs. Wm. Orr of Orr, MN; Mrs. Frank Arseneau of International Falls, MN; Mrs. Geo Brokaw of this place and Fred, Frank, and Barney Lumbar, three sisters, Miss Hattie Lumbar, Mrs. Wm Scott of Sand Lake, and Mrs. Geo. Goodsell of Couderay, WI; and one brother Henry Lumbar of Sand Lake. All were present here at the funeral Saturday, Feb. 10, 1917, which took place from the St. Joseph's Church. The interment took place in the Catholic Cemetery here. The community extends their deepest sympathy to the sorrowing family.
