Earl Henry Bynack, 77, of Somers, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Born on October 9, 1930 in Great Barrrington, MA, Earl was the son of the late Henry M. and Elizabeth (Wilkinson) Bynack. Earl had resided in Somers since 1961. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Operating Engineer for Local Union 478. He also worked as a project manager with Labutis Construction Company. Earl served his country as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was the recipient Navy Occupation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a life member of the N.R.A. and a charter member of the Somers Sportsmen's Association. In his leisure time and as true lover of nature, Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and horticulture. A loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, Earl is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Dorothy (Zimmerman) Bynack; his sister, Gwen West and her son William of Great Barrington, MA; several nieces and nephews, many dear friends and his Golden Retriever, Cody. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl J. Bynack. At the request of the family, all services will be private. Somers Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
