Jennie Brown was born in Hudson township and August 27, 1869. She passed away at a local hospital on November 26th, 1946, being at the time of her passing, 77 years, 2 months and 29 days. She was the daughter of Marden and Delcina Clocum Brown who were among the earliest settlers in Hudson. Here she grew to womanhood, attended the grade schools and also the St. Cloud Teachers college. she taught for a number of years in Douglas county until her marriage and then continued to live on the farm in Hudson until 1920 when she came to Alexandria which continued to be her home until her death. Left to mourn her loss is one son, Herbert, of Stockton, California and five grandchildren. Her parents and one brother, Herbert, have preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 30th, 1946 at 1:30 at the Anderson Funeral Home. Rev. A. A. Secord officiating. Interment was made in Union Lake cemetery. Pallbearers were Morris Hoar, Chris Hammer, Victor Steinhorst, Axel Nelson, Elon Hanson and Les Pennie.
