96 year old, Ines "Berdene" Clark Sweet of Rensselaer, formerly of DeMotte, passed away December 13, 2014. On May 21, 1918, Berdene was born in Kenderhook, Michigan to Bryan & Carrie (Klemp) Clark. On December 23, 1939 Berdene married Clyde K. Sweet in Lake County, Indiana. Berdene worked at U.S. Steel in the furnace and worked her way up to where she was working in the office.
Berdene is survived by many friends, who were like family to her: Mark & Stacy Waling, Gale & Noreen Kerns and Mike & Renee Conley.
Berdene was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde K. Sweet, her six siblings, and her parents.
Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Tri-County Bible Church, 5856 W. 1050 S., Rensselaer, IN, with a memorial service to be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Jim West officiating.
Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery at a later date.
