Mrs. Gatlin was a lifelong resident of Baker County and was a member of the Macclenny Church of Christ. She graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor’s degree, where she was a member of the Kapa- Delta Society and also a member of the girls’ basketball and softball teams. She then pursued her Master’s degree of Health from Union College in Barbourville, KY. She was a former physical education teacher and co-owner of Blair’s Nursery of Macclenny, Fla. and Ray’s Nursery of Sanderson, Fla. Mrs. Gatlin was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star and enjoyed playing golf, dancing, and going out to eat.
Mrs. Gatlin is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Blair and Edith Fraser Blair; sister, Claudette Blair; and brother, Shannon Davis.
She is survived her husband, J. Ray Gatlin of Macclenny, Fla.: Her daughter, Gina G. Gatlin of Macclenny, Fla.: Her son, Blair (Janet) Gatlin of Macclenny, Fla.: One sister, Gwendolyn (J.W.) Keen of Baldwin, Fla.: Four grandchildren, Casey Keith (Ashley) Davis, Ginny Raulerson, Miranda Gatlin and Karissa (Doug) Starling: Three great-grandchildren, Alexa Raulerson, Kinley Starling and William Starling.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, Dec. 19, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Macclenny, Fla. with Bishop Ronald Vonk officiating and assisted by Mr. George Knabb and Mr. Casey Davis. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida.
