Doug V. Reiswig, 65, Fargo, ND passed away in his home surrounded by friends and family on December 13, 2014.

Doug (Douglas) was born August 8th 1949 in McClusky, ND to Clarence and Lydia (Herr) Reiswig. He grew up on a farm near McClusky, ND. He attended Sheyenne River Academy through 11th grade and graduated from McClusky High School in 1968. Doug was drafted into the Army right out of high school where he served as a medical corpsman and was honorably discharged in 1976.

After serving in the Army, he worked at the VA hospital in Fargo where he met Lori (Rohde) who he married on June 22, 1973 in Halliday, ND. They lived in Fargo, ND where they bought their first and only home and raised their only child Melissa (McDaniel). In 1977, they moved to Greenbush, MN where he worked as a "catskinner" clearing trees for farmland. Shortly thereafter, they moved back to Fargo and Doug began his lifelong career as an independent long-haul truck driver under his company of Rapid Transport.

He is survived by his wife Lori (Rohde), Fargo, ND, daughter Melissa (Gary) McDaniel, Bismarck, ND, granddaughter, Courtney Paulson, Devils Lake, ND, brother, Stanley (Paulette) Reiswig, Bismarck, ND, seven nephews; Jeremy (Maritza) Reiswig, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kerwin (Karla) Reiswig, San Diego, CA, Ryan (Sara) Reiswig, Oakes, ND, Luke Rohde, Halliday, ND, Carl Rohde, Dickinson, ND, Riley Rohde, Rapid City, SD, Tanner Rohde, Killdeer, ND, niece Elizabeth Rohde, Bismarck, ND, many cousins, and his beloved trucking buddy cat Sassy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lydia (Herr) Reiswig and his school friend Ardean Keson.
