Mr. Campagnone was an auto mechanic for the former Beecroft Chevrolet of Cranston for many years. He was a life member of the Tri-City Elks Lodge #14 of Warwick for over 47 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII on the John Carter Rose in the South Atlantic, his ship was attacked by 3 German submarines while on patrol along the South American Coast. His ship was sunk, he along with 34 crew members were adrift for 7 days prior to being rescued.
He was the father of Rose DiPippo of East Providence, Cathleen Capace of East Providence, Sharon Davis of Cranston, John Campagnone of Chicago, IL, Roger Campagnone of Pawtucket and Anthony Campagnone of Cumberland.
Also survived by his sister, Pierina Brunetti of Johnston, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was also the father of the late Domenic and Michael J. Campagnone, Jr. and brother of the late Anna Rotella, Teresa Hornig, Armando and Ralph Campagnone.
Private burial with Military Honors.
