Sherrill C. Hiott, of Walterboro, a retired teacher and school administrator, died May 27, 2002

Mr. Hiott was born October 1, 1910 in Colleton County, a son of the late Stephen Westbury Hiott and Josie Hiott Hiott.

He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and attended Grace Advent Christian Church.

Sherrill was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He taught and served as Administrator in Bethune, Simpsonville, Aiken County, Colleton County and Fairfield County.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Craig Hiott; two sons, Sherrill C. Hiott, Jr. of Barnwell, William David Hiott of Clemson; five daughters, Dr. Sara Irrgang of Sorrento, FL, Katherine Haines of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret (Cindy) Belknap of Walterboro, Dr. Dorothy Muller of Greenville, and Dr. Jo Ann Hiott of Mt. Pleasant, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Chapel of the Fred Parker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Glenn S. Sherman and Rev. Donald E. Wrigley. Interment was in Live Oak Cemetery.
