James a. Gilbert, 87, former resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. E. Ericksen, in Deer Park, Wash., from heart trouble.
Mr. Gilbert was born in Wilmington, Del. June 21, 1865, and came to Utah as a young man. He was married in 1893 to Miss Hannah Elizabeth Wallace, a daughter of John and Annie Wallace, pioneer settlers of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Gilbert died in Lehi October 19, 1889. Mr. Gilbert had worked as a plumber throughout Utah, Nevada, Montana and other western states. He had lived several years with his daughter, Mrs. Ericksen, in Great Falls, Mont., until she recently moved to Deer Park, Wash.
He is survived by his two daughters, and one son, Mrs. Ericksen and F. J. Gilbert, Deer Park, Wash., and Mrs. Bert Swinyard, Salt Lake; also six grandchildren.
