Melinda Gail "Linda" Lilly Howell, 42, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 after a long courageous battle with Crohn's disease. She was a former employee of Schewel Furniture with over 11 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Timothy "Bo" Howell; children, Cindy, Chase and Chloe; grandchildren, Clarissa and Caleb; sisters, Rhonda Boyd, Barbara Lilly, Vicky Neely and Judy Sheppard. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Carilion NRV Medical Center, Montgomery Regional Emergency Department Staff and a very special thanks to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24068.
