He grew up on the family farm in Danville. Attended Harvey's Hollow Elementary School and Danville High School.
He and his older sister, Phyllis needed to operate the family farm following the tragic death of their older brother, Carlton.
Married his wife Jean in Danville on October 25, 1040. After their marriage, they eventually moved to their home in Orange.
Employed in sales and worked for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, for the Grand Union Tea Co., the Fuller Brush Co. and the Empire Co. In 1971, he founded Kenco Inc., a cleaning supplies business, which he and his family owned and operated until his retirement in 2007.
He was a past member of the Orange Alliance Church where he had served as a trustee and an elder. He was also a member for many years of the Gideons International.
He enjoyed vacations with his wife traveling with Jean to warmer climates in the winter, as well as attending Gideon meetings and conventions throughout the country.
He was a frugal man who preferred doing things for himself
Survived by his wife, Jean; his 5 children and their spouses; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Phyllis; nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Chris Chaloux; a sister, Ramona Blouin ; and his brother, Carlton Griggs.
