Some sources, such as his obituary, list him as Calvin Thomas. However, most list him as Thomas Calvin. He signed his draft registration card as Thomas Calvin, and his grave stone lists him as Thomas C.

The Paoli Republican (February 7, 1961) reported "Final rites are being conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Valeene Christian church for Calvin Thomas Lane. Mr. Lane, 83, died Saturday night at his home on Route 1, Paoli, following an illness of eight years. Services are being conducted by Rev. Elmer Swain and Rev. Donald Wright. Burial in the Valeene Cemetery is by Swarens Funeral Home of Marengo. Mr. Lane, a retired farmer, was a native of Orange County. He was a member of the Valeene Church where service are being conducted. He was a son of Jordon and Elizabeth Walls Lane. Surviving with his wife, Mrs. Pearl Flick Lane is a daughter, Mrs. Frank Stewart, and a son Carol Lane, both of Route 1, Paoli; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Martin of Indianapolis; one half-sister, Mrs. Alice Forbes of Southgate, Calif.; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Lucy Denton, died in 1958."
