Born in Longano, Italy, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pietro Caranci, he had lived in Providence for the past 57 years.
He was a Navy veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dante P. Caranci of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Eva L. Tommasiello and Rose D. Pasquarelli, both of North Providence; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Winfield Funeral Home, 492 Manton Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Teresa's Church, Manton Avenue. Burial in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
