Wayne Gregory "Greg" Heglar 82 yrs old of Jackson, TN passed away at the Jackson General Hospital on December 11, 2014.

Greg was born to Henry Fenner Heglar and Miriam Day Gregory in Humboldt TN on November 4th , 1932. Greg attended all his school years in Humboldt graduating in 1952. Greg was an outstanding basketball player and lettered in 1951. Upon high school graduation he earned a basketball scholarship to Union University. Greg enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea, Belgium, France, Germany and Vietnam during a 20 year career obtaining the rank of SFC E7 retiring in 1975.His last unit was Co A.,143rd Signal Battalion,3rd Armored Division. After his military years Greg worked for Merriell Lynch. Greg 1st married Shirley Kearns and had a daughter named Evangeline.His 2nd wife,Frances Burnette,they had two children named Randall and Greg Jr. In April of 1975 he married his wife of 39 years Earnestine. Their first home was in Collierville TN later moving to Jackson TN where they lived for 29 . Enjoying semi retirement , he worked with his wife at the SAS shoe store. Greg and Earnestine shared a love of traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his son Randy.

Greg leaves behind a brother Charles and wife Ida of TN,a sister Margaret and her husband James Doyle of FL,son Greg Jr and his wife Pearl of VA and daughter Evangeline of WA,two stepdaughters Pam and Jan of TN,five grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well nieces and nephews.

Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Gardens.
