Cecil Creed Cyrus was born on 21 April 1901 in Glenwood, Pope, MN, the fourth of eight children born to William Cyrus (1869-1950) and Amelia Alice Persinger Cyrus (1874-1942). He was married to Edna Evelyn Durbin (1905-1986). They had four daughters. Sadly, he died from exposure after falling through the ice in Wheeler, Lake of the Woods County, MN at the age of 43. He was interred at Elm Park Cemetery.
